Since opening our doors in November 2011, Worcester Hearing Centre has proudly served the local community as a family-run, independent premium hearing care practice. What began as a small local venture has grown from strength to strength, built on a simple belief – people deserve exceptional hearing care and genuine customer service. Today we are proud to be recognised as a trusted provider of comprehensive hearing tests, latest technology hearing aids and ear wax removal services in Worcester and Stratford-upon-Avon, helping thousands of people on their journey to better hearing.
The Story Behind Worcester Hearing Centre
Worcester Hearing Centre was founded by Tom Dixon and Victoria Dixon, both Directors of the business. Victoria has spent over 35 years working in the audiology industry internationally, gaining a huge amount of experience and insight into hearing care. During that time, she saw many private audiology businesses open, only to close again not long after. Often the reason was simple – the customer experience and level of care simply wasn’t good enough. Seeing this first hand, Tom and Victoria recognised a gap in the market. They believed people deserved better. Their vision was to create a hearing centre that focused on real customer service, expert knowledge, and doing the things other businesses were not doing.
Opening Our Doors in Worcester
In November 2011, Worcester Hearing Centre opened its doors at the beautiful and historic 5 Cornmarket in Worcester. The charm of the building, along with its central location, made it the perfect place to begin their journey. But like many small businesses, the beginning was far from easy. When the doors first opened there were no customers on the database and no appointments in the diary. Just three people ready to make it work: Tom Dixon, Victoria Dixon and Jean – Victoria’s late mother and Tom’s grandmother. Together they started the journey with determination, belief, and a passion for helping people hear better.
From Humble Beginnings to Trusted Local Provider
Starting a business is never easy and keeping one successful for over a decade is even harder. Through hard work, dedication and a commitment to quality hearing care, Worcester Hearing Centre slowly began to grow. Patients began recommending the practice to friends and family because of the time, care and expertise they experienced. Over the years the business continued to grow from strength to strength. Today Worcester Hearing Centre operates two practices – one in Worcester and another in Stratford-upon-Avon. The team has grown to 10 staff members, with several family members still involved in the business. Those who are not family by blood have become family through the work they share and the people they help every day.
At Worcester Hearing Centre, many of our patients will already know Alex Eaves, Victoria’s nephew, who is an integral part of our team. Alex joined Worcester Hearing Centre in 2015 and has developed alongside the practice, qualifying as an Audiologist in 2018. Today, he leads our Worcester clinic as Lead Audiologist, combining clinical expertise with a genuine, patient first approach to care.
We believe that exceptional hearing care is built on relationships, trust, and attention to detail. Alex embodies these values, ensuring every patient receives a tailored experience and the highest standard of support throughout their hearing journey.
We are equally proud of our wider team, whose dedication and professionalism underpin everything we do. In future posts, we look forward to introducing more of the people behind our service.
