Main features

IFrame

16 Channels Controlled By 10 Bands

The more bands a hearing aid has the better it can fine tune the channels to amplify and clarify sounds and speech. These work with the other programs to ensure a better listening experience.

Noise Reduction

This feature reduces the level of background noise without affecting the volume of speech around you, giving you better clarity when having conversations in noisy places. If you have problems in noise, this type of feature is ideal for you.

Wind Noise Reduction

This program recognises and reduces the sound of wind, making it easier to hear speech when you are outside. An ideal feature if you are active in the outdoors, take walks or like to play golf.

Spatial Sound Premium

Spatial Sound is based on a binaural wireless system. By preserving the natural characteristics of the signal from both ears simultaneously, this technology assists the brain in the process of organising, selecting and following sounds, resulting in easier access to speech in noise. This is the core of the system, it tries to ensure that sound is presented normally so the power of the brain’s natural abilities can be used.

Binural Synchronisation

Noise reduction and directionality are automatically aligned in both ears, creating consistent sound reception. This allows the most natural sound quality and ensures the hearing aids work as a pair.

BrainHearing Technology

This program uses Binaural Processing and Binaural Synchronisation to allow your hearing aids to communicate with each other and ensure they are always on the same program settings and volume. This also helps you to hear where sounds are coming from, giving you better spatial awareness. The telephone program sends the sound from the phone to both hearing aids at the same time, making calls easier. The Spatial Noise Management program compares the speech and noise volumes around you and is able to increase speech clarity. This gives you better understanding of speech in noise.

Soft Speech Booster

This program amplifies the harder to hear speech sounds at higher frequencies. Many people with high frequency hearing loss find it difficult to hear the beginning or end of words, and struggle with conversations. This program brings these high frequency sounds within hearing range.

YouMatic Premium

Designed for different listening situations, this program can contain 5 different profiles tailored to suit your needs, ideal for busy lifestyles.

FreeFocus Premium

This program controls the directional microphones and gives you five different modes for hearing sound in front of you, behind you, to the side or all around you. This is ideal for times when you cannot always turn to face the person speaking.

SpeechGuard E

This is designed for quieter environments and works to amplify speech sounds. It also adapts to your environment, ensuring listening comfort if background noise increases.

10 kHz Bandwidth

This gives a rich listening experience and great sound quality when listening to music.

Inium Feedback Shield

The feedback program removes the whistle or buzz of feedback before you know it’s there.

Tinnitus Sound Support

This program plays relaxing sounds to give relief from the whistle of tinnitus. The Tinnitus Sound App, used with Oticon’s ConnectLine Streamer Pro allows you to personalise your sound settings and also gives you some relaxation exercises.

VC Learning

These hearing aids are able to learn what your favourite settings are over time and apply them for you.

Adaptation Manager

New hearing aids can seem too loud, especially if you have been without good hearing for a while. This program allows you to get used to the noisy world gradually by slowly increasing the volume.

Wireless Connectivity

Helps to experience better connections with people, information and entertainment.
Phone communication – breaks down the barriers to phone communication. Incoming calls can be taken by simply pressing the dedicated phone button on the streamer, and the caller’s voice is streamed directly through the hearing instruments.

ConnectLine for life’s many opportunities

Oticon ConnectLine for Oticon Hearing Aids

ConnectLine wireless accessories are the ideal complement to Oticon hearing aids, the devices empower you to participate more actively in practically all of the situations in life that you have difficulty with.

One complete wireless  integrated system

ConnectLine is the wireless solution that offers the most connectivity abilities in one integrated system. Start with the application you find most useful for your needs. You can always add more applications at any time.

The New Streamer Pro

The Streamer Pro is the heart of ConnectLine giving  you total control of program shifts and hearing aid volume. More than that it delivers control of all sources of audio-based information, entertainment and communication available to you.

TV – TV sound is wirelessly transmitted to the hearing instruments via the streamer providing high quality listening. The volume of the TV for the rest of the family remains at a level which suits them.

Wireless and Cable Connection – allows connection to various audio sources wirelessly or with a jack plug.

Personal Computer – connect directly to computers so that audio is transmitted directly through the hearing instruments for clear , easy online conversation and listening.

Lapel Microphone – allows you to enjoy clear and private one to one communication in challenging listening environments with a range of up to 15 metres. Teleloop – the T – cord built into the steamer allows easy access to Teleloop systems in theatres, lecture halls and places of worship.

Remote Control – the streamer can be used as a personal remote for adjusting volume and programs for those who have dexterity problems.

I think that pretty much wraps up all there is to know about the new Oticon Alta2 Pro Range of hearing aids, if you have any questions about the new range of hearing aids or hearing aids in general, why don’t you give us a call on 01905 617803 or book an appointment online.

How long and when should you wear your hearing aids?

2 Min read

7th Apr 2015

Simple Question, Not A Simple Answer

It is a question we get asked quite a bit, it seems a simple one, but as with many things, there is not a simple answer. Let me explain.

New Users of Hearing Aids

When you are a new user of hearing aids we advise that you slowly ease yourself into wearing your hearing aids. You have probably had a hearing loss for many years and wearing hearing aids brings back all of the sound that you have been missing. Some people find it exhilirating and don’t mind the change, others can find it a bit too much.

A Staged Approach

We advise a staged approach, wearing the hearing aids for a few hours at a time and building up to wearing them all of the time over a two week period. This approach allows you to slowly ease yourself back into the world.

Why You Should Wear Them All The Time

There is a strong argument that you should wear your hearing aids all of the time once you have become used to them. In order to complete your auditory rehabilitation you really need to wear the hearing aids as much as possible. In essence the brain becomes better at sound perception the more it is delivered sound. However, it really is your choice, you can make the decisions and really, you should be in the driving seat.

You make the decisions, you are in the driving seat

Beyond The Newbie

Beyond the early stages of amplification there are times that you should consider when you wear your hearing aids. We know several customers that have what they call a deaf day. A day where they don’t use their hearing aids for a long period of time or perhaps at all. Normally it is a day where they are on their own and expect no visitors. They simply like to have a day of quiet or near quiet. So if you fancy just getting away from the world and relaxing, feel free to remove your hearing aids and chill out.

In The Shower

Please god not in the shower, unless of course the aids are water proof or designed to be immersed in water. For instance a lot of the new Phonak Venture hearing aids are okay to immerse in water of up to three foot for a limited amounts of time. So if you jump in the shower and forget to take them off, you don’t really have to worry. Don’t shower or swim with your hearing aids unless you know they are suitable

Sweating A Lot?

Again, if you are exercising or sweating a lot you should consider taking your hearing aids out. Although as with the shower and swimming if your hearing aids are designed to manage then you have no need to worry. Matt Gilbert, who is one of our customers, wears his hearing aids while playing rugby for Worcester Warriors. In fact his hearing loss is such that he needs his hearing aids to hear anything. So the answer here is if your hearing aids are designed for it, no worries, if they aren’t just make sure that you be sensible.

If you have any questions about the Phonak Naida range or you would like to experience the difference, call us on 01905 617803 or book your appointment online now.

Phonak Launches the New Naida V Range of Hearing Aids

5 Min read

7th Apr 2015

Phonak Recently launched their latest hearing aids for people with severe to profound hearing loss. They have become famous for their Naida range which delivers benefits for people with this type of loss. Originally introduced in 2007 they have gone through several updates. This time the get a new chipset and completely new designs, smaller and more powerful than before they now offer power coupled with discretion.

Matt Gilbert

Matt Gilbert

The launch event was attended by Matt Gilbert, who is in fact one of our customers and the and number eight for Worcester Warriors. Matt is the only deaf professional sportsman in England.

In 2012 Mat was fitted with a Phonak hearing device. Since then he has worked as a celebrity ambassador for Phonak, helping to raise awareness of hearing loss and encouraging children with hearing loss to excel. He discussed his experiences with The Naida devices, he also explained how wireless accessory devices from Phonak had changed his life.

Matt has profound hearing loss, however using Phonak’s wireless accessories like the com pilot and the TV link allows him to use his mobile phone and watch television with his wife without subtitles. This something that he was unable to do before he began wearing the Naida and availaing of the wireless accessories.

He really feels that this integrated solution has made a huge difference for him, giving him complete freedom. One of the things that really struck us was the fact that Matt was so pleased that he could take his own mobile phone calls now. Before the Naida and the Com Pilot his wife would have had to do it for him.

We are pleased that Phonak have launched the Naida V, the new Venture platform is really fantastic and now that the Naida has the technology on board it gives us a chance to fit Matt with the very best available technology.

Phonak

Naida Venture Hearing Aids

Phonak is a hearing aid manufacturer that is renowned for solutions for severe and profound hearing loss. Their latest addition continues and builds on that historical legacy.

They have just launched the latest addition to their now famous Naida range. The new addition is based on the Venture chipset and brings all of the benefits of that new platform to people with severe and profound hearing loss. The range is available in four levels of technology which include the V90, V70, V50 and V30.

The new range brings new form factors with much smaller and more powerful devices than available in the older Naida Quest range. It also packs in some great updated features with new strategies to deliver as much sound information as possible.

The Naida V Range

Feature run down

Sound Recover 2

With a new version of Phonak’s sound Recover strategy the Naida offers more high frequency cues than ever before. This allows access to the nuances of sound that you may not be able to hear.

Water resistant

The range is rated to IP68, which means it will survive immersion in one metre of water for sixty minutes without damage. Phonak are circumspect calling it water resistant, but another manufacturer calls this waterproof. One way or the other this range will quite happily get in the shower and the pool with you.

More robust

The casing is made with a new glass fiber reinforced material, the Naída V is now 60% more robust than its predecessor which together with its resistance to water should really give you confidence it won’t fail.

AutoSense

As part of the Venture platform the new Naida range benefits from Autosense and all of its features. This allows it to deliver the best possible experience in a range of sound environments.

The hearing aids

Naida V RIC

Naida V RIC

The Naida V RIC (Receiver in Canal) offers outstanding output levels in a small package, it will deliver outstanding benefits for people with mild to severe hearing losses. The device comes with three possible receiver options, the XS, the XP and the new X UP (for Ultra Power).

With the introduction of a new back vented style X UP receiver, the hearing aid will cover a hearing loss down to a flat 100 dB. This means that even people with a severe hearing loss can avail of an exceptionally discreet hearing solution without compromise in power or functionality.

Naida V SP

Naida V SP

The new Naida V SP is 25% thinner than its predecessor, it is also a much smaller hearing aid. It runs on a size thirteen battery and can be fit with a power slim tube and tip which offers real discretion. It can also be fitted with a standard thick tube and mould configuration. The power slim tube has been re-designed and it now sits lower on the top of the ear.

The new shape allows the tube to hug the face in a much better way. The power output on the new SP has been increased and it now matches the power output on the older Naida Quest UP. Which simply means that more people with severe to profound hearing loss can now avail of a more discreet option.

Naida V UP

Naida V UP

The new Naida V UP is again thinner and smaller than its predecessor with a newly designed form factor. The power output on the hearing aid has been increased giving it even more sound performance which allows it to deliver for even the most profound hearing loss.

It is powered by a 675 battery and can also be fitted with a power slim tube and custom tip. This is definitely the smallest 675 traditional type hearing aid solution for profound hearing loss I have ever seen. It will give people with profound hearing loss a more discreet solution.

If you have any questions about the Phonak Naida range or you would like to experience the difference, call us on 01905 617803 or book your appointment online now.

The devices are individually crafted and tailored to your hearing needs. The Virto V range automatically adapts to your specific listening situation and allows you to better understand speech. They are designed to fit perfectly into your ear canal for ultimate comfort, Phonak say that there is no other hearing aid this small, capable of this much performance.

Feature Rich

The Phonak Virto V70 contains some outstanding technology. It has 16 sound processing channels and a wide range of programmes and features to help you to hear in challenging environments. The V70  also benefits from Phonak’s Binaural VoiceStream TechnologyTM   which allows one hearing aid to recognise speech sounds and transmit the speech to both hearing aids in real time. This technology works alongside various other features to give you the best hearing clarity in different challenging listening situations.

Virto V hearing aid types

The Virto V70-Nano is the smallest and is an “invisible in the canal” or IIC aid. The Virto V70-10 NW O is the smallest of the Virto’s, slightly larger than the Nano. The 10 means it takes a size 10 battery, NW means no wireless so you miss out on all of the features for which wireless is needed. O stands for omnidirectional which means that you don’t get the benefits associated with dual microphones. The Virto V70-10 O is the same as the previous model but with wireless and the Virto V70-10 is again the same but with dual microphones squeezed on. Moving up to the Virto V70-312 you have a larger “half shell” aid that takes a size 312 battery. The largest of them all is the Virto V70-13, a “full shell” aid that takes a size 13 battery.

AutoSense OS

Phonak autosense iconAn outstanding automatic feature that seamlessly alters your hearing aids to your changing listening environment. Speech in Loud Noise

Phonak speech in loud noise iconThe feature helps you focus in on the single voice you want to hear from a noisy crowd. When noise reaches a level that makes understanding one person in a crowd difficult, StereoZoom, Phonak’s excellent microphone management system is automatically activated, allowing you to focus on the voice you want to hear and ignore the noise you don’t.

Speech in 360°

Phonak speech in 360 iconUnderstand speech from any direction. The Speech in 360 feature automatically selects the direction of speech and sends this speech signal from one hearing aid to the other, improving clarity and speech intelligibility without the need for you to face the speaker.

Programmes

It is also a multi programme aid and the programmes include;

Automatic Programmes

  • Music, giving you better clarity when listening to your favourite music.
  • Comfort in Noise, reduces loud noise to make your hearing more comfortable.
  • Speech in Noise, focuses your hearing to the front, reducing noise behind you.
  • Calm Situation, adjusts your hearing aids for comfort and better hearing in quiet environments and one to one conversations

Manual Programmes

Speech in 360

Automatically selects the direction of speech and streams this to the other ear, improving speech intelligibility without the need to face the speaker.

Speech in Loud Noise

Zooms in on a single voice in a diffuse noisy environment, improving speech intelligibility.

Acoustic Phone

This programme is designed to make it easier to talk on the telephone. The hearing aid on the telephone side transmits the speech to both hearing aids simultaneously, which improves speech clarity whilst reducing the sound of distractions in the room.

Features

Stereo Zoom

This directionality feature is designed to focus the hearing aids automatically on the clearest speech sound they can pick up. Ideal for noisy environments where there is background conversation.

Zoom Control

Rather than just focusing on sounds in front of you, this directionality feature can focus on speech sounds to the side or behind you. This is ideal for situations where you cannot easily turn to face the speaker, such as when you are driving and trying to listen to directions from your passengers.

UltraZoom

Directional microphones allow you to pick up the sound from all around you giving you a wide range to hear sound. The ultrazoom feature narrows this range to focus on a small area where someone is speaking. This gives you better speech understanding and reduces the effect of background noise.

Speech in Wind

When you are outside, the sound of the wind can drown out all conversation. This feature works out which hearing aid is getting the better speech signal and using the Binaural VoiceStream Technology sends the speech to both hearing aids. This improves speech clarity and also reduces the effect of wind noise.

Flexcontrol and FlexVolume

The Flexcontrol and FlexVolume programs give the wearer more control over their hearing. It enables the wearer to fine tune their hearing aids for better hearing in different environments.

Whistleblock

This feedback elimination feature recognises the feedback sound and removes it before you know it is there.

NoiseBlock

This noise reduction recognises continuous background sounds, such as traffic noise through a window, the dishwasher or office photocopier. It can reduce the volume of this sound so that speech is clearer and easier to understand.

Windblock

This wind reduction feature removes the sound of the wind when you are outside.

SoundRelax

Sudden loud sounds can be unpleasant or painful for those with hearing loss, particularly when it is amplified by your hearing aid. The SoundRelax noise reduction feature can soften the impact of sudden loud sounds without distorting the other sounds around you.

Real Ear Sound

This feature allows the hearing aids to mimic the way the ear naturally listens. This, as well as the receiver in canal design, means that it is easier to determine the direction the sound is coming from.

DuoPhone

This feature is designed to make it easier to talk on the telephone. The hearing aid on the telephone side transmits the speech to both hearing aids simultaneously, which improves speech clarity whilst reducing the sound of distractions in the room.

SoundRecover

This feature takes the high frequency sounds which are outside your hearing range, such as children’s voices and high pitched sounds, and makes them easier to hear.

QuickSync

Changing the volume or setting on one hearing aid will automatically change the other hearing aid as well. This synchronisation makes sure the hearing aids are always working together.

Tinnitus Balance Noise Generator

This new feature helps to relieve the symptoms of tinnitus by generating a pleasant sound.

Phonak has a range of accessories which are fully compatible with the Virto range. These include a remote microphone and TV link which streams sound wirelessly to your hearing aids via the Phonak ComPilot. The ComPilot can also stream sound from multimedia devices such as smart phones, computers and MP3 players. The Phonak remote control app allows you to change your smartphone into a remote control for your hearing aids.

Phonak Virto V90 Hearing Aids

Phonak Virto V hearing aidsOutstanding Custom Hearing Aids

Phonak has produced their best ever custom hearing aid range this year. They have managed to pack more features and technology into even smaller hearing aids. The Virto range really is the culmination of year of research and design work. The Virto V90, is their flagship aid and it is an exceptionally powerful one. Let’s look at what they have to offer you. The V90 is the top of the range device and you can see the full range of Phonak hearing aids available in Worcester here.

Let’s Talk Hearing Aid Types

Virto V hearing aid types

The Virto V90-Nano is the smallest and is an “invisible in the canal” or IIC hearing aid. The Virto V90-10 NW O is the smallest of the Virto’s and is slightly larger than the Nano. The designation 10 means it takes a size 10 battery and the NW means no wireless. If you choose something this discreet you will have to expect to miss out on all of the features for which wireless is needed.

The designation O stands for omnidirectional which means that you don’t get the benefits associated with dual microphones. There is a lot of evidence that dual microphones really can help you to hear better in noisy environments. Up to now with a small CIC aid this would not have been an issue, no CIC aids had dual microphones, but Phonak have found a way to squeeze them on.

The Virto V90-10 O is the same as the previous model but with wireless and the Virto V90-10 is again the same but with those dual microphones squeezed on. Moving up to the Virto V90-312 you have a larger “half shell” aid that takes a size 312 battery. The largest of them all is the Virto V90-13, a “full shell” aid that takes a size 13 battery.

?Virto v hearing aid types

The Phonak Virto V90 contains the highest level of technology in the Virto range. It has 20 sound processing channels and a wide range of programs and features to help you to hear in challenging environments. This RIC (Receiver In Canal) hearing aid is available in 11 different colour options.

The dust proof coating is also water repellent, ensuring that your hearing aid stays in great working order for longer. Phonak’s Binaural VoiceStream TechnologyTM allows one hearing aid to recognise speech sounds and transmit the speech to both hearing aids in real time. This technology works alongside various other features to give you the best hearing clarity in different challenging listening situations.

What’s Onboard?

So what is the technology on board the Virto V 90? Let’s have a quick run down of the tech in the aid and then I can explain it in further detail later.

Phonak autosense iconAn outstanding automatic feature that seamlessly alters your hearing aids to your changing listening environment. AutoSense OS accurately captures the precise listening environment you are in, changing when it needs to, to provide you with a comfortable, seamless listening experience throughout your day.

Speech in Wind

Phonak speech in wind iconEnjoy conversations even on a windy day. When wearing hearing aids wind noise can interfere with your speech understanding and listening comfort. The Speech in Wind feature enhances your ability to understand speech well, even when the wind is blowing.

Multiple Programmes

It is also a multi program aid and the programmes include;

  • Comfort in Echo, which reduces the noise of echo making it easier to hear speech.
  • Speech in Car, which makes it easier to follow conversations when you can’t take your eyes off the road.
  • Speech in Loud Noise, reduces the effect of loud noise making it easier to understand speech.
  • Music, giving you better clarity when listening to your favourite music.
  • Comfort in Noise, reduces loud noise to make your hearing more comfortable.
  • Speech in Noise, focuses your hearing to the front, reducing noise behind you.
  • Calm Situation, adjusts your hearing aids for comfort and better hearing in quiet environments and one to one conversations.
  • Technology Features

Stereo Zoom

This feature is designed to focus the hearing aids automatically on the clearest speech sound they can pick up. Ideal for noisy environments where there is background conversation.

Zoom Control

Rather than just focusing on sounds in front of you, this feature can focus on speech sounds to the side or behind you. This is ideal for situations where you cannot easily turn to face the speaker, such as when you are driving and trying to listen to directions from your passengers.

UltraZoom

Directional microphones allow you to pick up the sound from all around you giving you a wide range to hear sound. The ultrazoom program narrows this range to focus on a small area where someone is speaking.

Echoblock

Listening in assembly halls or places of worship is often a problem for hearing aid wearers due to the sound echoing around the room. This feature recognises the sound echo and removes it, without distorting the other sounds around you.

Whistleblock

This feedback elimination feature recognises the feedback sound and removes it before you know it is there. As with the Echoblock program, it can do this without sound distortion.

NoiseBlock

This noise reduction feature recognises continuous background sounds, such as traffic noise through a window, the dishwasher or office photocopier. It can reduce the volume of this sound so that speech is clearer and easier to understand.

Windblock

This feature helps to remove the sound of the wind when you are outside.

SoundRelax

This noise reduction feature handles sudden loud sounds which can be unpleasant or painful for those with hearing loss, particularly when it is amplified by your hearing aid. The SoundRelax feature can identifies those impact sounds and softens them without distorting the other sounds around you.

Real Ear Sound

This feature allows the hearing aids to mimic the way the ear naturally listens. This means that it is easier to determine the direction the sound is coming from.

DuoPhone

This feature is designed to make it easier to talk on the telephone. The hearing aid on the telephone side transmits the speech to both hearing aids simultaneously, which improves speech clarity whilst reducing the sound of distractions in the room.

SoundRecover

This frequency shifting feature takes the high frequency sounds which are outside your hearing range, such as children’s voices and high pitched sounds, and makes them easier to hear.

QuickSync

Changing the volume or setting on one hearing aid will automatically change the other hearing aid as well. This synchronisation makes sure the hearing aids are always working together.

Tinnitus Balance Noise Generator

This is a new feature, it is a noise generator which helps with the treatment of tinnitus

Connect & Communicate

Phonak Virto V range is compatible with the Phonak wireless communication portfolio. These accessory wireless devices deliver quality sound, ease of use and support you across many different situations that you face on a day to day basis.

Phonak Easycall

Phonak Easycall

The Phonak EasyCall connects hearing aids wirelessly with any Bluetooth enabled cell phone. It binaurally streams the phone call directly to the hearing aids for maximum speech understanding.

Phonak Dect II

Phonak DECT phone

The Phonak DECT II is the ideal phone for use both at home or in a small office. The phone signal is streamed wirelessly to both hearing aids simultaneously. This provides unmatched sound quality and great understanding.

Phonak Conversation Set

Phonak conversation set

He went on to say “We are very sensitive to the needs of those seeking a discreet yet powerful hearing solution. The new Phonak Virto V offers an even clearer and more natural sound quality than the previous generation of custom hearing aids. There is no other hearing aid this small that is capable of this much performance.”

Wireless Hearing Aid Accessories

Wireless Accessories For Hearing Aids Deliver A Better Experience For You

At Worcester Hearing Centre we are constantly astounded and fascinated by the advances in hearing aids. Forgive us a moment but we are a bit nerdish and can get quite excited about the technology that delivers better hearing. We want to talk about a hearing aid technology that we think you should get a little excited about as well if you suffer from hearing loss, Wireless hearing aids and their accessories. Let’s find out more.

Hearing aids have evolved immensely in the last few years and they are no longer the stand alone devices they once were. Wireless accessories are now available for almost all hearing aids. The really do offer the opportunity for you to connect to your world with ease. We think that these devices can deliver real benefits for you, so we decided to talk about them. In this first article, we will have a look at the range of wireless accessories from Starkey.

SurfLink Accessories

SurfLink is the name of the range of wireless accessories available for Starkey hearing aids. The Bluetooth hearing aids can stream phone calls, audio from the TV and music directly to your hearing aids. They are really good devices with excellent audio quality. So let’s take a look at what they can do device by device.

SurfLink Mobile 2

The Starkey SurfLink

This device is a connection to your mobile phone amongst other things, it is small enough to fit easily in a pocket or purse. It uses their patented system JustTalk™ to stream phone calls from a connected mobile phone directly to your hearing aids.

SurfLink Mobile uses your the microphone and receivers of your hearing aid’s to effortlessly pick up and send voices both ways. It can be used for any calls made on a smart phone including ones from apps like FaceTime®, Skype™, Viber and other telephone services on your smart phone

They have also included functionality that can help you in noisy environments, meetings or group settings. In these situations you can use it in the same way you would a remote microphone:

  • The directional microphone capability on the device enhances and helps to focus on speech in a one-on-one conversation in loud or noisy situations.
  • The omnidirectional capability allows better hearing in meeting or group settings where it is necessary to hear and understand more than one voice.

This handy feature really expands the functionality of the device and alone it makes the device a worthwhile purchase. But we aren’t finished yet, roll the drums please! The device also allows you to stream sound from any Bluetooth®-enabled TV or MP3 player. In fact from any audio device that offers a Bluetooth connection.

This combination of features really make this a fantastic device to choose to help you connect with your wider world. The device is exceptionally useful for active people, but even if you aren’t the most active, it is still worth considering. It is ideal for people who need to use phone calls for work, spend time in group settings and want greater flexibility while communicating. But having said that, what hearing aid user would not like to be able to talk to their loved ones on a mobile phone? So if you like easy phone calls, easy conversation in groups and even music direct to your hearing aids, this device is most definitely for you.

SurfLink Media

Starkey SurfLink Media

Like the SurfLink mobile, the SurfLink Media shows that the Starkey designers have sat down and really thought about the functionality that matters and ease of use. The SurfLink Media accessory allows multiple Starkey hearing aid users to wirelessly connect their hearing aids to a TV or media device.

Not many of the other manufacturers offer a device that can be used by multiple users. Connecting to the device is simplicity itself and it allows you to listen at the volume level you want, without bothering others in the room .

The device allows you to watch the TV or listen to your music by streaming sound directly from those devices direct to your hearing aids. You can adjust the volume through your hearing aids and you can even mute the ambient volume on the connected TV or radio while listening through your hearing aids..

The best part about this accessory is its ease of use, you simply set it up and everything else is completely automatic. You set it up, and it just works, effortlessly, it is asa simple as that. Once the device is all you need to do is walk into its field of transmission. You will automatically hear the streamed audio from whatever source you have connected. If you had multiple units set up in different rooms you would automatically change over to the audio being streamed from each device as you went from room to room. Its seamless, automatic and easy.

This accessory is perfect for Starkey hearing aid users who enjoy TV and music, but who have difficulty enjoying or understanding either, without turning up the volume. It is ideal for a household with two or more Starkey hearing aid users, because both can use the one device. Really smart thinking on the designer’s part.

SurfLink Remote

Starkey SurfLink Remote

A remote is probably the most widely used type of accessory for many hearing aid users regardless of the manufacturer. The SurfLink Remote allows users of Starkey hearing aids to quickly and remotely change the volume, program memory, and other hearing aid features without having to touch the hearing aid itself.

It’s a simple, convenient and inconspicuous way for you to control your hearing aids. It also allows you to control them independently or together. This is a great accessory for any hearing aid user who may have poor manual dexterity, or vision issues. It also allows you full control of your hearing aids with ease.

Wireless accessories can be a game changer for people with hearing aids. They can really extend the power of your hearing aids and allow you to take full advantage of your hearing aid benefit in an integrated manner. Wireless accessories can really open up your world delivering easy communication over mobile phones and comfortable listening to TV and Music.

If you have any questions about any hearing aids and their wireless accessories in Worcester, give us a call on 01905 617 803 or book your appointment online now.
